Resident Evil Requiem Gameplay Shown on Nintendo Switch 2

The early build of Resident Evil Requiem for Nintendo Switch 2 looks better than expected, judging by footage from Tokyo Game Show. According to Famitsu, the Switch 2 demo was available to play alongside the PlayStation 5 version.
While it was the same demo Capcom showcased at Gamescom 2025, Famitsu noted that playing on Switch 2 doesn’t spoil the experience and is visually close to other platforms. Some testers (Shacknews, Coelho no Japão, and others) have already shared gameplay recordings from the Switch 2 version on YouTube.
Although no direct comparison with other platforms has been made yet, the Switch 2 build already looks impressive: details like hair rendering even appear better than in the previously released Switch 2 announcement trailer. The footage also suggests that the game runs above 30 FPS in some scenes, though frame rate drops are noticeable. There’s a chance the frame rate may eventually be unlocked. It’s also worth highlighting that Resident Evil Requiem supports ray tracing on Switch 2, which is impressive even at 30 FPS.
Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to launch on February 27, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Recently, a supposed leak surfaced online showcasing an updated character design for Leon Kennedy, hinting at his return in the new entry. However, the leak’s authenticity was later denied by well-known insider Dusk Golem. Beyond the rumors, we’ve collected all official facts and details about the game shared by Capcom in a separate article.
