Gearbox and 2K have rolled out a new patch for Borderlands 4, bringing fresh weekly activities, performance improvements, UI refinements, and a substantial list of balance changes to heroes, missions, and gear. Developers recommend restarting the game to ensure the update installs correctly and to avoid matchmaking issues.

Highlights of the update:

  • New Weekly Activities — Big Encore Boss has been swapped for a tougher boss with valuable loot, Wildcard Mission has been updated, and Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine has moved to a new location with fresh stock.
  • Stability & Performance — fixed stuttering, low FPS, and crashes; updated character animations for performance; addressed rare infinite loading during crossplay; sped up character loading in menus.
  • Rewards & Progression — fixed bugs with lost or extra skill points in multiplayer; refined achievements, contracts, and reward packs (including Gilded Glory and Break Free Pack); updated progression rules between Ultimate Vault Hunter levels.
  • Hero Changes — adjustments to passives, elemental damage, skills, and weapons.
  • Gameplay — resolved errors in side missions (“Overwriting a Wrong,” “Talk to Zadra,” and others); improved beam attacks, Repkits, and enemy behavior; tweaked AI.
  • Gear — buffs to certain weapon types (e.g., Tediore, Order Pistol Lucky Clover, and Order Sniper Rifle Fisheye); fixes for elemental effects, mods, and ammo display.
  • UI, Graphics & Audio — improved UI (inventory, menus, minimap, reward navigation); fixed visual and animation bugs; added new sound effects and improved music.
