The first details of Battlefield 6’s story campaign have disappointed some fans of the shooter. After reviewing the known information, respected journalist and insider Tom Henderson shared a rather pessimistic forecast.
According to early reports, the Battlefield 6 campaign will feature nine missions across various locations worldwide, from the streets of New York to Tajikistan. Despite a cohesive narrative, players can expect a fairly long story spanning multiple timelines — at one point, events in the game will unfold over a two-year period.
However, concerns have also emerged regarding problematic AI and the need for a constant online connection, even in single-player mode, drawing criticism from several content creators. Tom Henderson expressed skepticism as well:
Some players commented that the story mode is exactly what motivated them to buy Battlefield 6, while others noted that technical issues at launch can usually be fixed with updates and patches.
Battlefield 6 is set to release on October 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. In addition to the story campaign and multiplayer, the shooter will feature a free Battle Royale mode with new mechanics, such as the fiery “death ring.” Fresh gameplay footage of the story mode is available here.
