At Tokyo Game Show 2025, Capcom held a major presentation covering their upcoming projects. Among other things, the developers shared some details about Resident Evil Requiem and revealed an approximate date for pre-orders.

According to producer Masato Kumazawa, fans will be able to pre-order a copy of Resident Evil Requiem as early as October–November this year. The same period is likely when a Resident Evil Direct presentation will take place, providing the official announcement.

Special attention was given to the Resident Evil Requiem demo available at TGS. Capcom representatives noted that the new installment will be significantly more challenging than previous games — based on existing stats, two out of ten players were unable to complete the demo. Here are some additional details from a fan-translated stream:

  • Resident Evil Requiem will feature multiple difficulty levels, with the easiest including auto-aim;
  • The game is expected to be a great starting point for newcomers;
  • The story begins with Grace Ashcroft exploring the Renwood Hotel as part of the case that led to her mother Alissa’s disappearance;
  • The opening mission appears to involve jumps between past and present;
  • Early in the game, Grace Ashcroft faces an incredibly dangerous situation — even more extreme and intricate than challenges faced by previous protagonists in the series;
  • Capcom believes players will be “captivated” by Grace’s journey, gradually witnessing her growth as the main heroine;
  • A key part of the story is the truth behind the Raccoon City incident, previously revealed by Alissa Ashcroft in Resident Evil Outbreak;
  • Enemies in Resident Evil Requiem are T-virus creations, featuring entirely new types of evolved zombies;
  • The demo presented at TGS 2025 only covers the beginning and does not reveal the most exciting parts of the game.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Gameplay for the last console has already been showcased, with the first demonstration videos appearing online. For a full rundown of all known details, click here.
