Project Retrograde is a new action-adventure survival game inspired by Resident Evil, developed by Invercity Games Works. IGN has released the first gameplay trailer for the game.

Players will take on the role of a bounty hunter, exploring a disaster-stricken area, fighting, and surviving in a post-apocalyptic world. The combat system is based on kung-fu mechanics, allowing active use of the environment and a variety of weapons. Project Retrograde borrows many recognizable elements from Resident Evil: zombie-like enemies, a protagonist reminiscent of Leon, RE4-style camera, action combat with QTEs, and similar mechanics. The game also features an enemy clearly referencing John Wick, including his iconic “Yeah” line.

The trailer is divided into two parts: the first shows cutscenes, while the second features full gameplay sequences. Notable features include the ability to throw an axe and catch it back, as well as enemies using ladders to chase the player.

Project Retrograde will release on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, although no official release date has been announced yet.

Meanwhile, new details about Resident Evil Requiem have emerged: the game will be more challenging with flexible difficulty settings, and enemies will include evolved zombies infected with the T-virus.
