How many games can you draw inspiration from? Judging by the latest gameplay of Ananta, the new anime action game from Chinese studios Naked Rain and NetEase, practically all of them—at least the most popular and recognizable.

The main character uses Venom’s tentacles and Spider-Man's moveset from Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in combat, swings between buildings on black webbing, hacks billboards like in Watch Dogs, participates in crime scenes reminiscent of GTA and Uncharted, and more. Even the character selection transitions are lifted straight from GTA 5. Interestingly, some of the projects that inspired the game belong to Sony studios, whose consoles will host Ananta’s release.

According to user reactions, players are more excited than upset by the “borrowing.” The Ananta trailer has gathered 98,000 likes on YouTube, while the gameplay clips have received 54,000 likes.

This game looks like the plotline you and your friends would come up with on the playground in Elementary school and I'm so here for it.

Ananta is being developed as an action RPG where players take on the role of an investigator of anomalies and supernatural phenomena in Nova City. As an agent of a secret anti-Chaos organization, the hero must capture criminals with superpowers. Developers promise a variety of activities, including car theft, criminal operations, mini-games, romantic encounters, and more.

Ananta is set to release on PC, PS4, PS5, Android, and iOS. The game will follow a free-to-play model, with exact release dates yet to be announced.
