As promised, Techland has released hotfix patch 1.2.3 for Dying Light: The Beast, which launched earlier this month to very positive reviews on Steam.

The hotfix brings a range of improvements and fixes to performance, stability, gameplay, quests, progression systems, and the user interface.

Patch highlights:

  • Various crashes fixed and overall game stability improved;
  • Fixed an issue where the sharpening effect was incorrectly applied when using DLSS;
  • Addressed rare stuttering when Frame Generation was enabled;
  • Fixed graphical artifacts when using HDR on PlayStation 5;
  • Improved enemy grab mechanics;
  • Fixed a bug that disrupted patrol routes in Dark Zones;
  • Fixed a critical issue where receiving a modded weapon from a player who had already completed the tutorial caused the game to reapply the modification, blocking progression;
  • Fixed an issue where destructible doors would become impassable for one player, blocking quest progress in The Mine;
  • Fixed a bug where, after reloading, destructible doors and windows would respawn, trapping players inside the safe zone;
  • Fixed a bug where, after reloading a save, an entrance could become blocked by an unintended obstacle;
  • Fixed an issue where music could loop endlessly after reloading certain quests;
  • Fixed a missing “Join the Community” button on consoles.

Dying Light: The Beast was released on September 18 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Ports for PS4 and Xbox One are planned for a later date.

By the way, players have already discovered some interesting Easter eggs in the game, including references to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Harry Potter, and more.
