Yesterday marked the official release of Ghost of Yotei, and the internet quickly filled with first playthroughs, screenshots of hidden Easter eggs, and other details. Sucker Punch Productions also joined in, showing what Death Stranding fans can discover.
It turns out the developers hid the mask of Higgs Monaghan — the leader of Homo Demens and main antagonist of the first Death Stranding — within the game world. Players can find this surprise in the Ezo region.
As you explore Ezo in #GhostofYotei, you may discover a familiar looking mask...

Interestingly, the collaboration went both ways: Death Stranding 2: On The Beach features the Ghost of Yotei mask as one of the cosmetic items players can discover while exploring the map.
Hideo Kojima himself also joined the celebration, congratulating his colleagues at Sucker Punch Productions on the release of their new action game by posting a screenshot of Sam Porter wearing the Ghost mask.
Ghost of Yotei is available exclusively on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. Previously, players discovered a quest revealing more of Jin Sakai’s story, the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima. The two games have already been compared in terms of graphics and detail — with the sequel surpassing its predecessor in many aspects.
