With just eight days left until the launch of Battlefield 6, hype around the game has already reached its peak. The beta alone attracted 25 million players, many of whom have since placed pre-orders.
According to a report from The Game Business, the game has already secured 1.7 million pre-orders, with first-week sales projected to hit around 5 million copies. For a franchise long overdue for a comeback, this could mark a major triumph — potentially making Battlefield 6 one of the most successful entries in the series.
Despite this strong start, 5 million sales may not be enough for EA. Insider reports suggest that development costs for Battlefield 6 have exceeded $400 million. Company executives are aiming for a total audience of 100 million players. While this figure seems ambitious, it could still become a franchise record, especially with the addition of a free-to-play Battle Royale mode expected to drive player numbers.
The only major concern is the single-player campaign. Rumors suggest the story mode may disappoint fans. Still, Battlefield 6 is already outpacing its biggest rival — Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — which has been struggling throughout 2025.
Battlefield 6 is set to release on October 10 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. Details about the game’s first season, as well as its file size and PC launch timing, have already been revealed online.
