A new trailer has dropped for '83, a first-person shooter about an all-out war between the USSR and NATO — and there’s already a playable demo on Steam.

Blue Dot Games has released a fresh trailer for their upcoming FPS, '83, set in an alternate timeline where the Cold War erupts into a full-scale conflict between the Soviet Union and NATO forces.

The developers announced that a playable demo will be available during Steam Next Fest from October 6 to 20, but you can already download it on Steam right now.

'83 features massive 40 vs 40 online battles with infantry, vehicles, and artillery strikes. Matches last around 30–40 minutes and focus on capturing and holding key objectives, demanding tight teamwork and strategic coordination between squads.

The project is positioned as a spiritual successor to the Rising Storm series, blending realistic weapon and gear mechanics with accessible gameplay that skips long pre-match setup phases.

Players can choose from a variety of classes, including commander, and all weapons and equipment are recreated with attention to detail and authentic use. '83 aims to combine the authenticity of large-scale warfare with fast-paced, intuitive gameplay.

The game was first announced back in 2019. In a previous trailer, the developers showcased a battle near Chernobyl's Duga radar array.

By the way, October is a big month for shooters: Battlefield 6 launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 10, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to release on November 14 and is currently in open beta.
