Activision Reports Anti-Cheat Success in Black Ops 7 Beta — Less Than 1% of Cheaters Made It Into Matches

Activision has shared recent results of its Ricochet anti-cheat system during the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta, claiming the system delivered extremely high effectiveness. While some clips of cheaters surfaced in the first hours of testing, the company says that the vast majority of these cases were stopped almost immediately after attempts to enter the game.
According to Activision, 97% of offenders were banned within the first 30 minutes of logging in, and less than 1% of cheating attempts actually made it into a match. Even those few players who managed to bypass the system were removed from matches within minutes.
The company noted that Ricochet’s updated algorithms worked so quickly that most banned accounts were removed before any clips featuring them could spread online. Activision also reported that, following these measures, major cheat providers began labeling their tools as “non-functional” or “detected,” with some even admitting they no longer have stable solutions for Black Ops 7.
Since the release of the previous entry, Black Ops 6, Activision has managed to shut down more than 40 cheat developers and sellers, and the company says it will continue to take action against those that remain.
The publisher also pointed out that new security measures, including technologies like Secure Boot and TPM 2.0, might be inconvenient for some PC players, but are necessary to maintain a fair and secure gaming environment.
Activision emphasized that additional protections will be in place at the full launch of Black Ops 7, further expanding Ricochet’s capabilities. The game faces stiff competition — around the same time, Battlefield 6 beta attracted even more player activity than Black Ops 7, setting the stage for a direct rivalry between the two shooter giants at launch and in the months to follow.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to release on November 14 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The open beta is available until October 8.
