The full version of the old-school-inspired RPG Erannorth Renaissance has officially launched on Steam, earning overwhelmingly positive reviews from gamers. At the time of writing, the game boasts a 96% rating. The project is developed by indie studio Spyridon Thalassinos.
Players praise the game for its abundance of text to read, a richly detailed world, classic old-school RPG elements, and engaging quests.
After about 15 months in early access, the moment has finally come to open the floodgates. Erannorth Renaissance officially leaves early access today, and we are ready for the next leg of our journey. As I’ve mentioned before, this is just a milestone in our development, and progress will continue as always, with more stories, side quests, enemies, and character customization options coming in the months ahead. Your old characters will work fine, and your demo characters will too. But if it’s been a long time since you last played, I recommend starting fresh and enjoying all the latest additions.
Erannorth Renaissance is described as a story-driven RPG that blends interactive novel-style narration with turn-based battles and deep character customization. Players can create their own hero or choose a pre-made character, form a party, and make decisions that influence the story and the world around them.
The adventure unfolds in an open, dynamic world that reacts to player choices. Along the way, you can clash with ancient vampires or become one yourself, help the people or commit crimes, forging your own unique path.
The game features social interactions with hundreds of unique NPCs—you can make friends, rivals, or even romantic connections, with the social system tailored to player preferences. The combat system is based on tactical battles on a hex grid, offering both accessibility for newcomers and deep strategy for seasoned players.
Erannorth Renaissance also offers extensive customization options, a robust crafting system, procedurally generated side contracts, and full mod support, allowing players to create new content and tweak gameplay mechanics. A demo is available. According to the developers, old saves will remain compatible after the full release.
By the way, we previously reported on an action/RPG called Beyond the Map, which has been described as a mix between Valheim and Diablo.
