AttritoM7 Productions has announced Blackwood, a new third-person action game set in the criminal underworld of New York. The game is slated for release in summer 2026 and is already available to wishlist on Steam. The studio has also released a debut trailer and screenshots.
Players take on the role of a small DVD shop owner in 2012 New York who moonlights as a contract killer. Blackwood combines dynamic, responsive combat with cinematic storytelling, offering fast-paced shootouts, dodges, slides, and takedowns to create unique action moments.
A key focus is on contextual finishers, allowing players to efficiently eliminate enemies using both hand-to-hand moves and environmental interactions. By day, you’ll manage your shop, interact with the environment, buy and sell goods, change outfits, and explore RPG elements that emphasize the protagonist’s double life.
The story unfolds through interactions with memorable characters and a city full of secrets, where every detail—from ads to tattoos—reflects the narrative and the consequences of your choices.
Recently, we also reported on the announcement of a new playtest for Bungie’s shooter Marathon. The developers have revealed the minimum system requirements for the early version of the game.
