Steam Faces Ongoing Issues Throughout the Day — Likely Due to DDoS Attack

Users are reporting widespread problems accessing Steam, which, at the time of writing, is down. Attempting to visit the store’s website brings up a “page unavailable” message in the browser.

It’s not just the store that’s affected—Steam Community features and game servers are also down. The outage appears to be linked to a large-scale DDoS attack. Similar issues are affecting other services and games, including Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, and more.

Throughout the day, outages have also been reported for PSN, EA, League of Legends, Dead by Daylight, and Call of Duty.

Valve has yet to comment on the situation or provide an estimate for when full service will be restored.

Earlier this month, we also reported on a hacker attack targeting Discord, which put user data at risk. Additionally, a cyberattack on the social network X this spring caused global outages—an incident Elon Musk described as unprecedented in scale.
