Players of Borderlands 4 have grown tired of endless NPC chatter and recently found a workaround — a mod that lets them skip dialogue. However, Gearbox Software has issued a warning: the modification could corrupt missions and even make progress impossible.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) asked the developers to add an official dialogue-skip option. Creative director Graeme Timmins responded:
I’d recommend using this mod with caution; skipping dialogue can cause broken mission stages, and that might be irreversible. Implementing such a feature is far more complex and risky than it looks, considering how dialogue is tied into our mission system. Don’t ask me how I know.
Borderlands 4 is already available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Earlier we reported that Borderlands 4 sold 3.1 million copies in its first month, falling short of previous entries. Despite debuting in the top five, the game’s launch numbers are notably lower than Borderlands 3’s record-setting performance.
