Following the release of the military shooter Battlefield 6, comparison videos showcasing the game’s graphics have started popping up online. One such video highlights the visual differences between the PS5 Pro and PC, each running with different settings.
The video’s author takes a close look at shadow quality, textures, reflections, environmental details, lighting, and resolution.
Here’s what they found:
- The PS5 Pro serves as the benchmark for maximum visual quality on consoles;
- The PC version offers a wide range of adjustable graphics settings;
- The difference between low and high settings is minimal, except for certain aspects like shadows, textures, and lighting—the game still looks good even on low settings;
- The PS5 Pro uses settings roughly equivalent to medium-high on PC;
- DLSS remains the best upscaling option—upscaling quality on the PS5 Pro falls short compared to DLSS or FSR on PC;
- With an RTX 3050, the PC can achieve solid performance at high settings and 1080p, indicating good optimization.
The YouTuber also released a separate video comparing the graphics between the PS5 and PS5 Pro.
This comparison focuses on the campaign (not multiplayer):
- Performance is nearly unchanged from the beta version;
- The PS5 Pro features slightly improved settings over the PS5—better detail, shadows, and volumetric lighting;
- However, the differences between platforms and modes are minor;
- In performance mode, both consoles dial down quality a bit—detail, shadows, terrain quality, volumetric lighting, and post-processing all take a hit;
- The PS5 Pro achieves higher frame rates, sometimes over 20 FPS more, though in some scenes the gap is minimal;
- Cutscenes are locked at 60 FPS on both consoles;
- Battlefield 6 is very well optimized, delivering stable performance on any platform.
Battlefield 6 launched on October 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game has received high marks from the press and mostly positive feedback from players. For example, at the time of writing, the Steam rating stands at 76%.
By the way, it was recently revealed that the developers will reward players with bonuses due to technical issues at launch. Additionally, the game has already been tested on popular graphics cards, including the GTX 1650, RTX 3050, and RTX 4060.
