Battlefield 6 Campaign Has a Battlefield 3 Connection — And Even Fans Might Have Missed It
Artis Kenderik
The single-player campaign of Battlefield 6 features several callbacks to earlier games in the series — especially to Battlefield 3. One of its story missions is directly tied to the events of Night Shift, where the origins of a new antagonist organization, Pax Armata, were first hinted at.
In the Night Raid mission, players hear the story of Sergeant Haz Carter, whose account echoes Night Shift from Battlefield 3. Back then, the game’s protagonist Henry Blackburn was attempting to capture terrorist Faruk Al-Bashir when Carter’s squad became surrounded. British special forces commander Alexander Kincaid returned to rescue his men, but Carter retreated, leaving him to die. As it turns out, this very act became the catalyst for Kincaid’s transformation into the leader of Pax Armata.
This connection bridges different eras of the franchise: after the events of Battlefield 3, Blackburn was dishonorably discharged, but according to the lore of Battlefield 4, he later founded a private military company working with Russian forces. By the time of Battlefield 2042, he is referenced as the founder of the Arkangel Corporation.
So the Battlefield 6 campaign doesn’t just introduce a new villain — it unites the storylines of previous games and gradually builds a shared Battlefield universe.
Earlier, we covered the story of a popular streamer who plays the new installment without killing anyone — he’s already saved more than 700 soldiers in the Support role.
