IGN has released a 13-minute gameplay video for Spellcasters Chronicles, the upcoming title from Quantic Dream — the studio behind Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human. The footage features developer commentary and highlights the game’s core mechanics.
Spellcasters Chronicles is a free-to-play team-based action game with strategic elements, where players take on the role of Spellcasters and engage in 3v3 battles. You can soar above the arena, summon creatures, and wield over 50 spells from seven schools of magic — combining them to control the flow of combat.
Among the summonable creatures are ogres, skeletons, dragons, and Titans, with players able to shift the course of battle dynamically through magic and environmental interaction.
The game will launch as a free-to-play title, with closed beta testing coming soon to Europe and North America. The trailer was previously published. The gameplay showcase followed shortly after David Cage’s announcement of Quantic Dream’s first multiplayer project.
