Elder Scrolls Veterans Share New Screenshots of Their Upcoming Open-World RPG — The Wayward Realms
OnceLost Games, a studio founded by former Bethesda developers, has released a new batch of screenshots from The Wayward Realms. The project, reminiscent of The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall, aims to become a worthy spiritual successor to the Elder Scrolls series.
While the dungeons are full of secrets, treasure, and of course, monsters! There’s a natural beauty to the outside world of the Archipelago, you’ll only have to take a moment to pause and see it for yourself. Here are 3 in-game screenshots while you wait.
The Wayward Realms is being developed as a fantasy RPG with extensive opportunities for role-playing and exploration. Players will be able to kick enemies during combat, use environmental objects, and experience a vast open world where choices have real consequences.
The team at OnceLost Games includes several original creators of The Elder Scrolls, including Ted Peterson. Sadly, the studio recently suffered a major loss with the passing of Julian LeFay, one of the architects of the Elder Scrolls lore — immortalized in the series as the god Julianos.
The Wayward Realms already has a Steam page, though its release date has yet to be announced.
As for The Elder Scrolls itself, fans recently had a chance to contribute to the development of TES 6 — Bethesda invited winners of a charity auction to design a unique NPC in memory of a late fan.
