Major Battlefield 6 Update Announced — Progression Fixes Coming Next Week

Following the successful launch of Battlefield 6, DICE has released a detailed community update outlining major upcoming changes to progression and community servers. The developers admitted that certain gameplay and leveling systems need refinement — and confirmed that the first wave of fixes will arrive next week.
Players have voiced frustration over the slow pace of progression and the lengthy process required to unlock gadgets and weapon attachments. In response, DICE announced the following adjustments:
- Match completion XP will be increased by 10%, and the daily bonus by 40%.
- XP required for the first 20 attachment levels will be nearly halved, allowing players to unlock key upgrades much faster.
- Assignments that previously required career ranks 20, 23, and 26 will now unlock at ranks 10, 15, and 20 respectively.
DICE noted that some UI elements may temporarily display incorrect weapon progress after the update, but the issue will fix itself after completing another match. The studio also promised to continue refining missions and rewards to make progression smoother and more rewarding.
Additionally, DICE plans to limit the number of XP farming servers that rely on bot exploitation, while still preserving creative freedom for the community. After the upcoming patch, all custom and verified servers will need to be republished, ensuring a fairer and cleaner environment.
If final testing goes well, the update will roll out within the next week. The team is also working on improving other aspects of the game — including visibility, weapon bloom, vehicle spawns, and more. These updates will be gradually introduced as DICE prepares for Battlefield 6 Season 1.
Earlier, dataminers uncovered several future game modes planned for Battlefield 6. Meanwhile, the developers have suggested that players delete the campaign to save disk space. Whether it’s worth playing at all — you can find out in our review.
