Fans Turn The Simpsons: Hit & Run Into Futurama — Even the Original Creator Is Impressed
Artis Kenderik
The fan team Slurm Team has released a demo of Futurama: Hit & Run, a massive mod that transports the classic The Simpsons: Hit & Run (2003) into the world of Futurama.
Springfield has become New New York of the year 3000 — complete with pneumatic tubes, slime-filled sewers, and fully remade 3D models. The developers say everything was built from scratch so the mod would feel like an official expansion.
The demo includes four story missions, bonus tasks, races, costumes, vehicles, and about a quarter of the city map. Some lines are currently voiced by AI, but professional actors will join later.
Interestingly, the project has already received praise from Joe McGinn, the lead designer of the original game:
As the lead designer of The Simpsons: Hit & Run, I can only say one thing...this looks amazing! I want to play it.
The Futurama: Hit & Run demo is already available on Mod Bakery. To run it, you’ll need the original game and Lucas' Simpsons: Hit & Run Mod Launcher.
