According to well-known insider Jez Corden, Microsoft is not using generative artificial intelligence in the development of the next Halo game. He clarified that Xbox Game Studios does not require its teams to implement AI tools for creating game content or visuals — the technology may only be used internally, for tasks such as emails or customer support.
Earlier reports claimed Microsoft was planning to integrate AI into the development of Halo, along with rumors of a potential remake of Halo: Combat Evolved. However, none of these claims have been confirmed.
Corden added that the studio may be using procedural generation — a long-established technique in game development, seen in titles like Minecraft and World of Warcraft.
More news about the future of the Halo franchise is expected at the Halo World Championship 2025, which kicks off on October 24 in Seattle.
Previously, details were revealed about the upcoming entry and other possible projects within the universe, as well as its estimated release window.
