New Crimson Desert Gameplay Revealed: The Protagonist Can Catch Bullets Mid-Air
New gameplay footage of the ambitious action RPG Crimson Desert has surfaced online, showcasing two intense boss battles — one set in an arena and another featuring gunplay.
The fight against Muskan doesn’t look particularly groundbreaking, but it does highlight how the protagonist’s melee moveset changes depending on the weapon in use. When equipped with a bow, Cliffe can kick enemies, while using melee weapons allows for more aggressive rush attacks. The second boss encounter is more dynamic: the enemy wields firearms, forcing Cliffe to use unconventional tactics — including catching bullets mid-air using magic.
Crimson Desert takes place on the continent of Pywel, set in the same universe as Black Desert Online. The story follows Cliffe, who must gather a team to confront a powerful threat and change both his fate and the fate of the world. Developers at Pearl Abyss promise a seamless open world, meaningful player choices, and a deep combat system.
Crimson Desert launches on March 19, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Previously, footage revealed a battle against a mechanical dragon — one of many strange creatures inhabiting Pywel. Players will also be able to obtain robotic companions armed with machine guns, as well as a variety of unusual mounts, each with unique combat abilities.
