Chrono Trigger fans finally have something to be excited about again — YouTuber NOBL Games is working on an impressive fan remake of the legendary JRPG, built entirely in Unreal Engine 5. Unfortunately, it’s not a playable project.

In this version, the creator completely reimagines the original game — instead of the classic top-down view, it’s now a fully 3D third-person RPG, offering a glimpse at what a modern-day adaptation of Chrono Trigger might look like if it were officially remade today.

In the first video, NOBL Games showcases a redesigned 3D model of Crono, as well as the iconic Millennial Fair area from the game’s opening. The creator also plans to recreate more locations in the future, including key story areas from the original.

As with most fan projects, this remake was created for portfolio purposes only — there’s no way to download or play it, and no plans to release it publicly. Still, even in this form, the work is impressive, especially considering it’s a one-person project.

Recently, new footage surfaced of another fan remake — this time of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, featuring an entirely new area that wasn’t present in the original game.
