Studio Fumi Games has released a 17-minute behind-the-scenes film about the development of Mouse: P.I. For Hire — a noir shooter inspired by classic 1930s American animation. In the video, the developers talk about how they painstakingly recreated the hand-drawn aesthetics of vintage cartoons and blended them with the dark tone of a crime thriller.

The team paid special attention to the visual style and weapon design — from the «steam cooler» to the automatic «turpentine cleaner». The arsenal is just as bizarre as the enemies themselves. The video also features plenty of fresh gameplay footage.

The story of Mouse: P.I. For Hire takes place in a grim version of the United States during the Great Depression. Players take on the role of detective Jack Pepper, investigating conspiracies and corruption in the crime-ridden city of Mausburg. The protagonist is voiced by Troy Baker — the voice of Joel in The Last of Us and Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire will launch on March 19, 2026, for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
