DICE has introduced a new mode in Battlefield 6 called Casual Breakthrough, now available in the main menu under the Multiplayer tab. It’s designed for players who want to jump into the game without the stress of full PvP, while still progressing and completing challenges.
Here’s what players can expect in the new mode:
- Smaller teams: 16 real players (8 per team) and 32 bots (16 per team).
- Progress at every step: earn Career XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass XP, while completing challenges.
- Balanced XP: full rewards for actions against real players, reduced rewards against bots.
- Maps: initially available maps are Siege of Cairo and Empire State.
Casual Breakthrough does not include career stat updates, Dogtags and Accolades, which remain exclusive to the core multiplayer experience.
We understand that sometimes you want to jump into Battlefield but without the intensity of a full PvP lobby. To create a more relaxed way to play while still earning progression and completing challenges, we’re introducing Casual Breakthrough and this new mode.
Developers are monitoring player feedback and promise to make adjustments if needed. Fans have already shared mixed opinions: some welcome the chance to play more relaxed, while others believe PvP modes should remain hardcore.
Recently, Battlefield 6 also launched the free-to-play RedSec Battle Royale, which failed to gain traction and faced heavy criticism. In our coverage, we tested both the multiplayer and the story campaign and detailed all the strengths and weaknesses of the shooter.
