Battlefield Fans Prove That Battlefield 6 Has the Smallest Maps in the Series’ History

Reddit users conducted a large-scale comparison of maps from various Battlefield games — from Battlefield 3 to 2042 — and concluded that Battlefield 6 features noticeably smaller battlefields than ever before. Enthusiasts ClaraTheRed and PENGUINonPC manually measured each map, verifying the actual in-game dimensions.
To ensure accuracy, the fans created their own measurement system — calculating the distance from spawn points to control zones and scaling each map to “one pixel = one meter.” The result was a detailed chart showing how the scale of Battlefield maps has evolved with each installment.
The findings were striking: even the largest Battlefield 6 map, Mirak Valley, ranked only 35th overall, while the new version of Operation Firestorm turned out to be three times smaller than the original from Battlefield 3. Players also noted that the issue isn’t just size — the new maps are more linear, with tighter corridors and less freedom for vehicles.
In the comments, users expressed hope that future updates will fix the issue and bring back truly large-scale battlefields. For now, however, Battlefield 6 — released on October 10 — remains the most compact entry in the franchise’s history. Earlier, the game introduced a “relaxed” PvP mode for players who prefer a more laid-back experience.
