News of the second delay for Grand Theft Auto 6 sparked not only a sharp drop in Take-Two Interactive’s stock but also an explosion of sarcasm across social media.
The official Rockstar Games post gathered over 27,000 comments and 62,000 reposts within just a few hours.
We regret adding additional time to what has already been a long wait, but these months will allow us to bring the game to the level you deserve.
Responses poured in almost instantly — even other official accounts joined in on the jokes.
The developers of Cyberpunk 2077 playfully referenced their own infamous 2020 tweet, replying with a single emoji and the text:
No more delays.
Domino’s Pizza UK chimed in: “Call us if you need help with delivery,” while Devolver Digital — publisher of Hotline Miami and Cult of the Lamb — offered, “Need a publisher to get things back on track? DMs are open.”
Fans on X (Twitter) kept the sarcasm flowing:
When we say ‘take your time,’ we don’t mean that much time. Ten more years, why not.
Great. Jesus will return before GTA 6.
My brother and I will be retired by the time it’s out.
Pretty sure I’ll finish college before the game releases.
April Fool’s was 219 days ago.
Some users defended the studio, urging others to “give them time,” but the flood of memes and irony clearly dominated the conversation.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is now set to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reiterated that the company is “confident in this date” and does not anticipate further delays.
