Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date for Xbox Series X/S Leaks Online
It seems the wait is finally coming to an end. The Silent Hill 2 remake, which until now has remained exclusive to PlayStation 5 and PC, is preparing to launch on Xbox Series X/S. As is often the case, the leak didn’t come from an official announcement — but from an accidental update on the Microsoft Store.
Users noticed that the game’s page on the official Xbox website briefly listed a release date of November 21, 2025. The entry was quickly removed a few hours later, but, as usual, the internet remembers everything. The discovery was first reported by True Achievements, meaning horror fans can now start getting ready to return to the foggy town on a new platform.
Rumors about Silent Hill 2 coming to Xbox have been circulating for quite some time. Speculation intensified after the game received an ESRB rating for Microsoft’s console on October 31 — a clear sign that the release was approaching.
According to the Microsoft Store description, the project will be optimized for both Xbox Series X and Series S, and will also be available on PC via the Microsoft Store. However, it’s still unclear whether the game will support the Play Anywhere feature, which allows cross-platform save transfers.
For reference, the Silent Hill 2 remake was released for PS5 and PC (via Steam) on October 8, 2024, with a one-year exclusivity period for Sony’s console that only expired last month. Persistent rumors also suggest that a Silent Hill 2 version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is in development. Whether it will launch alongside the Xbox release remains unknown — both Bloober Team and Konami are keeping quiet on the matter.
Additionally, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the Born From A Wish DLC, which was an integral part of the original game. A recent comment from a Bloober Team developer has reignited speculation about the possible return of the beloved expansion.
