GTA Online Is Temporarily Free on Consoles

Recently, some console players started noticing that GTA Online on PlayStation and Xbox no longer requires a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass subscription. Shortly after, Rockstar Games’ official support confirmed that the game is temporarily free to play.
You can play on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S until November 17th. No special subscriptions required.

Meanwhile, news about GTA 6 continues to surface, with the game’s release date recently delayed for a second time. It’s now scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. According to journalist and insider Tom Henderson, the project is already nearly finished.
As for the price, there’s no official word yet, but previous analysis from MIDiA Research suggests that if GTA 6 launches at $70, it would generate the highest profits.
It was also reported that Rockstar Games recently laid off around 40 employees, leading to protests from some of those affected.
