It seems Build a Rocket Boy has secured its place in history — though not in the way the studio likely hoped. According to Metacritic’s final scores, the single-player action game MindsEye became the worst title of 2025, earning just 37 out of 100 points. This is one of the lowest results of the past five years — and, frankly, not a surprising one.

The debut project from former GTA producer Leslie Benzies’ studio launched in June in catastrophic condition — to the point that Sony began issuing mass refunds. The last time something similar happened was during the troubled launch of Cyberpunk 2077, which already speaks for itself.

For now, Build a Rocket Boy isn’t giving up and continues trying to promote the disastrous MindsEye by any means possible.
