Indie studio Dustpan Games has announced Bashnya, a roguelike inspired by the aesthetics of the Soviet era and the chaos of the 1990s. The developers have already released the first trailer and screenshots, along with new details about the project.
Bashnya is a competitive roguelike where players battle each other for the only path to salvation in the midst of an apocalyptic catastrophe. Each character has a unique playstyle—some prefer stealth and subtlety, while others choose a more aggressive, head-on approach.
Buildings are procedurally generated and almost entirely destructible, making every session unique. The world is filled with artifacts that can alter the rules of the game: they might enhance abilities, distort perception, or affect other characters.
A morality system tracks player actions, gradually shifting the balance between trust and fear. The game’s atmosphere fuses late-Soviet everyday life, forgotten heroes of the '90s, unusual technology, and post-punk music that captures the spirit of the era’s collapse.
“Big Khrushchyovka. Eight neighbors. One escape pod. Bashnya is a sovietpunk multiplayer roguelike where players seek a way out, but find their doom,” the description reads.
Bashnya already has a Steam page.
