Alkimia Interactive has shared a fresh batch of updates on Gothic 1 Remake. The studio is currently focused on refining the combat system — and to showcase the progress, the team released nine comparison videos highlighting the difference between the August and October builds.
Here’s what has changed:
- Reduced the time between preparing an attack and executing it;
- Combos now matter more — to land a successful chain, players must hit the correct inputs;
- You can now interrupt your own attacks;
- The hero can perform a dodge while blocking;
- Improved the lock-on camera: it offers better visibility and shakes less;
- Smoother movement animations during attacks;
- Added finishing moves that conclude combo chains and can knock enemies down;
- Some enemy attacks can now knock the player down as well;
- Added new animations for two-handed sword combat at the Master level.
Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled to launch in early 2026. The studio recently released a behind-the-scenes video focused on voice acting, introducing the cast of the remake.
