Naughty Dog’s upcoming project is once again in the spotlight — but this time not because of a new trailer or a fresh leak, but due to a chain of conflicting statements. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet now appears to be much farther away than fans hoped, and it won’t be shown at The Game Awards 2025 either.

The game, first unveiled during last year’s TGA ceremony, instantly became one of the most talked-about announcements from Naughty Dog. Its sci-fi setting and direction by Neil Druckmann fueled enormous anticipation. So when former IGN journalist Colin Moriarty hinted yesterday that the title might launch in 2026, fans took his remark almost as confirmation.

But the excitement didn’t last long. Within hours, several reputable insiders publicly refuted the claim. Jason Schreier stated he could guarantee that Intergalactic is not launching in 2026. Jeff Grubb echoed the sentiment, adding that not only is the release still far off — the game won’t be shown at The Game Awards 2025 at all.

Moriarty later clarified that his comments had been taken out of context and were merely a personal assumption rather than inside knowledge. As a result, the future of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet remains as nebulous as its cosmic setting. Even director Neil Druckmann isn’t ready to say when the studio will next present the project.
