TimeSplitters Rewind Has Launched in Early Access After 13 Years of Development — And It’s Completely Free

Cinder Interactive has announced the Early Access release of TimeSplitters Rewind, a large-scale fan project that functions both as a “greatest hits” collection and a standalone reimagining of the entire TimeSplitters trilogy. The game is available for free to all fans of the series — with no microtransactions of any kind.
Rewind is more than a simple HD collection. The development team has created a unified project that includes maps, modes, leagues, challenges, and story content from all three original games. Instead of three separate remakes, players receive one cohesive title that captures the spirit of the franchise.
Early Access content includes:
- 28 maps
- 50 Arcade leagues
- 32 challenges
- 91 characters
- 41 weapons
- 20 arcade game modes
- A brand-new mode called Team Elimination
The game supports online matches for up to 10 players and offers both online and offline story modes.
The project has been stuck in development hell for roughly 13 years since its announcement. In a message to players, Cinder Interactive emphasized that Rewind is one of the largest free fan-made projects to date. The team apologized for the long wait and thanked the community for its patience. Developers also invited anyone interested in contributing new content to join their official Discord.
Minimum system requirements:
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: GTX 760
- CPU: Intel Atom C2750 @ 2.40 GHz
- Storage: 35 GB
You can download TimeSplitters Rewind from the official website via the provided link.
As for other remakes, a rumored release window has recently surfaced for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, a fully rebuilt version of Ubisoft’s hit title running on a new engine.
