FX and Hulu officially launched production of a series based on Far Cry. The adaptation is being handled by Noah Hawley, creator of Fargo and Alien: Earth, with Rob McElhenney, known for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Mythic Quest, serving as main partner and one of the actors.
Hawley noted that the anthology format is perfect for Far Cry, where each installment is a new madness, location, and story.
Each game is a variation on one theme, just like Fargo seasons. Making a large-scale action show that can change from year to year while remaining an exploration of human nature through chaos and madness — it's a dream.
Each season will be dedicated to a new story with a unique setting — from the American heartland to exotic islands. Producers promise to preserve the spirit of Ubisoft's series, combining anarchy, survival philosophy, and charismatic villains.
Working with Noah Hawley is a dream come true. Ubisoft entrusted us with one of the most iconic gaming universes.
The premiere will take place on FX and Hulu, but there's no release date yet.
