CD Projekt has shared updated sales figures for Cyberpunk 2077, nearly five years after its release. The company also revealed how many employees are currently working on new projects, including The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2.
Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 35 million copies to date, with sales recently boosted by the launch of the Switch 2 version. The game’s addition to PlayStation Plus attracted new players and renewed interest in the Phantom Liberty expansion. As a result, Cyberpunk 2077 remains the company’s primary source of revenue.
CD Projekt also released updated staffing numbers for key projects as of October 31, 2025. According to the latest infographic, the total number of developers grew from 799 to 851 over the past three months.
The biggest growth was seen on Cyberpunk 2, with the team expanding from 116 to 135 developers — a clear sign that work on the sequel is ramping up. The development teams are growing in Boston, Warsaw, and Vancouver.
Here’s what else is known about Cyberpunk 2:
- Cyberpunk 2 won’t be released before 2028;
- The game is a joint project between CDPR’s Polish and Boston studios, with the Boston team taking the lead;
- CDPR Boston plans to significantly expand its staff in 2026–2027;
- By the end of 2027, the Cyberpunk 2 team could grow to 300–400 developers across Poland and the US;
- Cyberpunk 2 will feature a new city inspired by “Chicago,” and Night City is also likely to return.
The Witcher 4 remains the largest project, with 447 developers now working on the next entry in the series (up from 444 in July).
Other updates include:
- Project Sirius increased its team from 51 to 56 people;
- The Hadar team grew from 22 to 29;
- The Shared Services division (localization, QA, analytics, motion capture, etc.) expanded from 149 to 162;
- The “Other” category rose from 17 to 22 people.
These figures confirm that CD Projekt is actively scaling up development, pushing forward on both The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 amid strong financial performance.
