Techland has released update 1.4 for Dying Light: The Beast, marking the game’s largest and most ambitious patch to date. The update brings major new features, including New Game+, a reworked endgame Legend Levels progression system, ray tracing support on PC, new finishing moves, and over a hundred fixes and improvements.

New Game+ lets players replay the story while keeping all their gear and progress, offering a tougher challenge and access to ultra-rare weapons. The revamped Legend Levels system expands character development beyond level 15: all earned XP converts to Legend XP, unlocking passive bonuses, increased health, enhanced combat skills, and a hefty batch of rewards—including 22 new weapon types, two gear sets, and legendary vehicle skins.

Ray tracing has also arrived, delivering improved reflections, lighting, and shadows. You can enable the tech via the Ultra preset or manual settings. Ultra automatically turns on Frame Generation, so the devs recommend using a VRR monitor for minimal input lag.

Three new finishers have been added as well: one for one-handed blunt weapons, one for two-handed blunt weapons, and another for two-handed cutting weapons.

Alongside the update, the Call of the Beast week has kicked off, featuring the Executioner challenge. The community can unlock rewards for mass enemy executions: the Gutsbuster skin at one million kills and the Rascal skin at 2.5 million. The event runs until December 4, with double XP weekends and exclusive stash weapons available.

Patch 1.4 also brings a huge list of improvements. Over 200 parkour and environment issues have been fixed, early-game progression has been updated, XP loss in Survival mode has been reduced, and co-op activities, reinforcement logic, and AI behavior have all been improved. On the technical side, there are more than 35 stability fixes, over 70 graphical tweaks, as well as interface, localization, and audio enhancements.

Dying Light: The Beast launched in September on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game has received very positive feedback from Steam players, and you can check out our full review here.
