A New Image Emerges from the Upcoming AAA Open-World Game by the Creator of Just Cause

Liquid Swords, the studio founded by Christofer Sundberg—co-founder of Avalanche Studios and creator of the Just Cause series—is teasing a major announcement event set for December 4. The studio’s official account has shared a teaser image from their upcoming game.

The teaser comes with the phrase: “Brace for impact.” The image shows a dark, industrial cityscape at dusk, featuring:

A large factory or power plant with three towering smokestacks;
An industrial area filled with brick buildings, pipes, engineering structures, and illuminated courtyards;
A highway with several cars driving along it;
The silhouette of a sprawling metropolis with a dense “wall” of skyscrapers on the horizon;
A suspension bridge visible in the distance on the left;
Lighting that captures a late-evening mood: the sky is covered in dark clouds, and the streets are lit by cold street lamps.

Details about the project remain under wraps, but early information suggests it’s a AAA title with an open world and an advanced melee combat system. The previous teaser drew comparisons from many gamers to GTA.

Incidentally, Christofer Sundberg recently revealed that a fifth installment in the Just Cause series will never happen.
