French insider and blogger j0nathan, who specializes in Ubisoft leaks, has released a new video featuring details and rumors about the upcoming Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag remake. Most of the video reiterates information that was already known, but it also includes several new details.

According to sources, the developers are focusing not on a radical reimagining, but on a deep modernization of the original game. The main technical change will reportedly be the complete removal of loading screens — players will be able to move freely between the open sea and cities without interruptions, significantly improving the game’s pacing. The weather system is said to be inspired by Assassin's Creed Shadows, with more dynamic storms, rain, and visually rich atmospheric effects.

A redesigned interface is also mentioned: menus and UI are expected to be more modern and user-friendly, addressing the clutter typical of the 2013 version. The world map will retain its original scale, but is said to become much more detailed, featuring more activities, points of interest, and incentives for exploration.

If the leaks are accurate, the Black Flag remake will be more of a careful “modernization” of one of the franchise’s most popular entries rather than a full-scale remake in the vein of Resident Evil. According to Ubisoft’s latest report, the project is still targeting a release before the end of March 2026.

A rough release data for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake has also reportedly surfaced.
