Assassin's Creed Shadows is set to launch on the hybrid Nintendo Switch 2 console on December 2. To mark the occasion, YouTuber Cycu1 released a video showcasing the graphical differences between the PS5 Pro and Switch 2 versions.
The creator carefully selected nearly identical scenes to compare the level of detail, texture quality, effects, and environmental elements across both platforms.
Update: Another video has surfaced, comparing Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series S.
When it comes to loading times, the Xbox Series S comes out on top at 19.50 seconds, followed by the PS5 at 34.26 seconds, and the Switch 2 at 47.63 seconds.
According to early information, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will take up about 62.765 GB on Switch 2, while the PS5 version will require 102.614 GB.
Interestingly, it was recently revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not receive a major expansion on the scale of Claws of Awaji, but smaller updates are still planned.
The game is an open-world action-adventure set in medieval Japan. Players control two protagonists with unique playstyles: the stealthy shinobi Naoe, who uses light, sound, shadows, and parkour with a grappling hook to infiltrate fortresses, and the samurai Yasuke, who relies on powerful combo attacks with his katana, naginata, and a silent bow.
The world dynamically responds to player actions and weather changes, with shifting seasons, destructible environments, and evolving circumstances that influence tactics. Built on an upgraded Anvil engine with ray tracing, real-time reflections, and detailed geometry, Assassin’s Creed Shadows brings castle towns, shrines, and natural landscapes to life like never before.
