The Game Awards 2025 organizers have launched voting for the Player's Voice category, which will determine the best game of the year according to gamers. In the first round, players need to choose 10 out of 30 games.

The first round includes Arc Raiders, Battlefield 6, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Delta Force, Dispatch, Donkey Kong Bananza, Doom: The Dark Ages, Elden Ring Nightreign, Final Fantasy XIV, Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Ghost of Yotei, Hades 2, Helldivers 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Mario Kart World, Marvel Rivals, Megabonk, Ninja Gaiden 4, No Man's Sky, Peak, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Silent Hill f, R.E.P.O., Split Fiction, Warframe, and Wuthering Waves.

The second round kicks off on December 4, advancing 10 titles. Five projects will then make it to the third round.

On November 17, the nominees for The Game Awards 2025 were announced across categories including Game of the Year, Best Performance, Best Ongoing Game, Best Mobile Game, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, Best Adaptation, Best Narrative, Best Community Support, Games for Impact, Best Multiplayer Game, Best Independent Game, Best Debut Indie Game, Best VR/AR Game, Content Creator of the Year, Best Action Game, and more.
