Studio Pathea Games, known for the My Time series, has released a new nine-minute gameplay trailer for its upcoming project The God Slayer — an open-world steampunk-fantasy RPG. The game is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The trailer provides a detailed look at gameplay and combat mechanics. Players take control of Chen, whose family was slaughtered by the Celestials during the Fall of the Gods. The protagonist embarks on a quest for vengeance, wielding elemental powers, learning new skills from masters, and refining his internal flow of qi.
A key feature of the combat system is the dynamic interaction of elemental forces: fire burns wood, water extinguishes fire, boiling water produces steam, and earth creates obstacles. Players can combine and use these interactions in various ways, offering multiple approaches to combat and playstyle.
The game is set in the capital of the Zhou kingdom — an Eastern metropolis at the peak of steampunk technology, featuring airships, monorails, steamships, and mechanical devices that create a vibrant, living world. According to the developers, the city hosts numerous factions with hidden agendas, and players will need to forge alliances, trade favors, and carefully manipulate officials to gain an advantage over the Celestials’ army.
The God Slayer promises a rich open world, complex combat with stealth elements, and dynamic elemental interactions. The exact release date has not yet been announced, but the trailer gives a clear sense of the game’s scale and ambitions. A Steam page for the project is also now available.
