Capcom has revealed new plot details for Resident Evil Requiem following the confirmation that Leon S. Kennedy will serve as the game’s second playable character. The updated description sheds more light on the story’s setup and the roles of its protagonists.

According to the revised synopsis on the official website, the story begins with the discovery of a body in an abandoned hotel in the Midwest — yet another victim in a series of mysterious deaths unfolding across the United States. FBI intelligence analyst Grace Ashcroft is assigned to the investigation, which leads her to the very place where her mother was murdered eight years earlier. The situation becomes even more tense when reports emerge that a police officer stationed at the hotel has gone missing.

At this point, Leon S. Kennedy enters the case — a veteran of numerous bioterrorism incidents and one of the survivors of the Raccoon City tragedy. The seasoned agent is ordered to travel to the same hotel to determine whether the new incidents are connected to the catastrophic events of the past.

As Grace and Leon’s paths converge, they must confront not only the dangers of the present but also the shadow of past tragedies echoing through their memories. As they uncover the truth about the events that changed the world forever, the protagonists will face a choice: relive their nightmare once again, or finally offer a requiem for the dead.

Capcom has updated the game’s main page across digital storefronts (including Steam), publishing new images featuring Leon S. Kennedy. The studio also revealed the contents of the Deluxe Edition, which includes character skins. In addition, a collaboration between Resident Evil Requiem and Porsche has been announced: in the game, Leon Kennedy will drive a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.

Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
