Phasmophobia Kicks Off The Winter’s Jest Event: The Return Of Krampus And Three New Ghosts
The developers of Phasmophobia have launched the annual winter event Winter’s Jest, which will run for three weeks and bring not only a festive atmosphere but also a fresh dose of horror. Once again, the main star of the event is Krampus, appearing on special festive maps as a limited-time ghost model.
During the event, players are tasked with completing special objectives — filling Krampus’ sack with presents based on his “naughty and nice” list. Active participation is rewarded, and for the first week of the event (from December 16 to December 23), developers have enabled double XP and double cash rewards for all investigations.
Three New Ghosts
Alongside update v0.15.1.0, Phasmophobia introduces three brand-new ghost types:
- Obambo
- Dayan
- Gallu
Map Rotation
As with other seasonal events this year, Winter’s Jest features a daily map rotation. The full list of event locations includes:
- 10 Ridgeview Court
- 6 Tanglewood Drive
- 13 Willow Street
- 42 Edgefield Road
- Camp Woodwind
- Bleasdale Farmhouse
- Grafton Farmhouse
- Maple Lodge Campsite
- Point Hope
- Nell’s Diner
Changes And Improvements
The update also brings a number of notable tweaks:
- The Banshee now appears exclusively in a female form;
- Krampus is officially defined as a male character;
- Ghost types in the Journal are now sorted alphabetically (English only for now);
- Nell’s Diner unlocks at Level 5;
- RAM usage has been reduced across all maps;
- Dead players no longer earn event points for identifying the ghost.
Bug Fixes
The patch includes an extensive list of fixes, ranging from issues with the Ouija Board to VR teleportation bugs and Steam Deck voice chat problems. Numerous visual and technical issues at Nell’s Diner have been addressed, and overall stability when using CCTV cameras has been improved.
The developers also warn that some players may notice missing badges and cabinet trophies after installing the update. As a temporary workaround, they recommend starting any contract and then returning to the main menu. Looking ahead, Phasmophobia is also set to arrive on Switch 2 in 2026, alongside the introduction of full cross-platform play.
