Universal Pictures has revealed that the fantasy musical Wicked: For Good will be available for digital purchase and rental at the end of the month. The film is set to hit digital platforms on December 30, 2025—about six weeks after its theatrical debut. The physical release is scheduled for January 20, 2026, with the movie coming to 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD, complete with an expanded set of bonus features.
The sequel takes viewers back to the Emerald City and brings the story of Oz’s witches to a close. Elphaba, now fully branded as the Wicked Witch of the West, is in exile and continues her struggle against the Wizard, while Glinda has become the glamorous face of “good” and enjoys her newfound celebrity status.
When a girl from Kansas literally crashes into their world, the former friends must join forces once again—not only to change their own destinies, but to alter the fate of all of Oz “for good.”
Wicked: For Good grossed $491 million on a $150 million budget and currently holds a 6.9 user rating on IMDb.
Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film stars Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, and Jeff Goldblum. Universal Pictures is distributing the movie; the studio recently also released the first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey.
