Metacritic Names the Top 20 Nintendo Games of 2025

Metacritic continues to roll out its year-end rankings for 2025. This time, the review aggregator has revealed the highest-rated titles for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Topping the list is the enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 edition of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Second place went to the acclaimed isometric action-roguelike set in the world of Greek mythology, Hades 2. Rounding out the top three is the Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Metacritic recently released a similar ranking for PlayStation titles, where first place was claimed by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 from Sandfall Interactive. Prior to that, the portal listed the best Xbox games of the year, with the co-op action game Split Fiction taking the lead.
