Honkai: Star Rail Reveals New Playable Characters: Yao Guang and Sparxie
HoYoverse has introduced two new playable characters for its popular free-to-play JRPG Honkai: Star Rail. Both are slated to join the roster following the launch of the massive Version 4.0 update.
The first newcomer is Yao Guang, one of the Seven Arbiter-Generals of the Xianzhou Alliance. She follows the Path of Elation and deals Physical damage. Joining her is Sparxie, who appears to be a new version of the existing character Sparkle. Sparxie also follows the Path of Elation, but wields the Fire element.
In addition to the new reveals, the developers announced that the Version 4.0 update will bring significant buffs to both Black Swan and the original Sparkle.
Version 4.0 is highly anticipated by the community, as it is expected to introduce a brand-new planet to explore, alongside new Light Cones, Relics, and limited-time events.
Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based space fantasy RPG from the creators of Genshin Impact. Players take on the role of the Trailblazer, a being carrying a mysterious, catastrophe-inducing object known as a Stellaron. Since its debut in April 2023 on PC (Epic Games Store), Android, and iOS, the game has expanded to PlayStation 5 in October of that same year.
In other community news, cosplayer Larissa Rochefort recently shared her take on Dahlia, who joined the game in Version 3.8. Additionally, PeachMilky—the body model for Ashley in the Resident Evil 4 remake—recently showcased a lingerie-inspired cosplay of Aglaea.
