Synopsis of The Witcher Season 5 Revealed — Premiere Expected in 2026
Netflix has officially confirmed that the fifth season of The Witcher will premiere in 2026. The project will serve as the final chapter of the adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s book saga.
Alongside the announcement, the streaming service also revealed a brief synopsis for the final season. According to the description, a growing threat looms over the Continent as dark forces unite in their hunt for Ciri. Geralt and Yennefer will be forced to face enemies and trials unlike any they have encountered before, as they attempt to save the girl and keep their family together.
The time of the end is approaching: dark forces are gathering across the Continent with sinister designs on Ciri. Even if Geralt and Yennefer manage to save their daughter and fulfill their final wish — to reunite as a family — they will have to face obstacles and enemies unlike anything they have encountered before.
Season 5 will mark the conclusion of the series. Filming of the final episodes is taking place alongside production of season four. In the upcoming seasons, the role of Geralt of Rivia is played by Liam Hemsworth, who replaced Henry Cavill. The creators plan to adapt the events of the novels Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and The Lady of the Lake.
