Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Weappy have released a new trailer for The Eternal Life of Goldman, an adventure metroidvania featuring a vibrant, cartoon-inspired art style. The developers also announced that the game will take part in this February’s Steam Next Fest, where players will be able to try out an expanded demo.
The Eternal Life of Goldman is a hand-drawn adventure platformer with a focus on exploration and combat, set on a mysterious Archipelago. Players will uncover the secrets of the islands, hunt down and face off against a mystical Deity, meet eccentric characters, and encounter all sorts of strange creatures.
The game combines classic frame-by-frame animation with richly detailed environments, unique items, and striking visual effects, creating a world full of variety and constant discovery. Progress demands precision and care, but also leaves plenty of room for improvisation and exploration.
The Eternal Life of Goldman blends challenging platforming, a well-crafted narrative, and dynamic sequences, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere, visual flair, and the spirit of exploration.
The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, with a release planned for later this year.
By the way, we previously reported on another metroidvania, Mariachi Legends, which draws inspiration from Ninja Gaiden, Katana Zero, and Castlevania.
